Artist's Statement

I'm originally from Canada and have lived and worked as an Electrical Engineer in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1997. Living in the southwest desert has been a unique and rich visual experience. The quality of light here is beyond description and the desert's plants, rocks, sand, water and sky provide interesting forms, textures and landscapes. Recently I have been experimenting with near infrared photography. I've been enjoying this format because the results are rarely predictable and it gives desert landscapes a unique, mysterious quality.

Photomontages are also something I have worked with off and on for a number of years. I try to produce works that truly document my surroundings in great detail. Advances in computer graphics applications have made it possible to arrange and produce these in digital format.

Nearly all my work is now black and white. I moved to monochrome primarily because it gives me greater control over final print quality.
